I was going to have some fun today with the contest on YouTube launched by Hillary’s campaign to select a campaign theme song. Actually, I think it’s funny, not to mention canny – sure, she opened herself up to all sorts of ribbing but the video appeal was viewed more than 900,000 times. Today, however, as I was walking around Barnes and Noble I saw that there are two new biographies released about Candidate Clinton that seem to me (and I admit I only thumbed through them over coffee) to be little more than rehash for cash. “Her Way” by two obviously irritated authors pretty much rolls out the same accusations and intimations of evil; “A Woman In Charge” presents a more “balanced” approach but still seems like something I read years ago. I looked for a similar pile of books about the other colorful candidates but didn’t see them. What gives? We’ve got tons of candidates who all deserve reams of paper devoted to their good and bad qualities, if that’s what we really want. Look, I’m as happy to be informed as the next person but it’s not like Hillary is the only one running – she’s just the only woman running. Not that that has anything to do with it.
